Privacy Policy

Effective September 21, 2026

Published August 21, 2026. If you were already a Wonderdog member on August 21, 2026, the previous version of this Policy continues to apply to you until September 21, 2026.

This Privacy Policy is incorporated into Wonderdog’s Terms and Conditions and outlines our privacy practices in connection with your use of our services.

Two surfaces are described separately throughout this Policy, because they do not collect the same information. The “Website” is wonderdoghealth.com and any related web pages. The “App” is the Wonderdog iOS application. Together with any related services, they are the “Service.” Where a practice applies to only one of them, this Policy says which.

This Privacy Policy explains how Wonder Dog Health, Inc. (“Wonderdog,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and discloses personal information. It applies only to the Service and where we control data collection and use. It does not apply to any third-party websites, actions, or offers (together, “Third-Party Services”), regardless of links or connections through the Website. We do not control Third-Party Services, which have separate privacy practices.

Our Service provides longitudinal canine preventive health services, including blood biomarker testing, AI-driven health analysis, telehealth veterinary consultations (via licensed Televets), and at-home veterinary technician visits. We collect and use information primarily to deliver and improve the Service, build your pet’s longitudinal health profile, and communicate with you. We care about member privacy and employ measures for data security and to respond to consumer privacy requests.

When Do We Collect Your Information?

We collect personal information when you provide it to us — for example, when you visit our Website, create a member account, schedule an Appointment, complete our intake form, or communicate with our team. We also collect information when you interact with a Televet or Vet Tech during an Appointment, including information generated as part of the clinical encounter.

Like many websites, we obtain technical and device information automatically when you visit or use the Website. We may also collect information from content you make public outside of the Website, such as when you contact us through social media or tag Wonderdog in a post. Information collected off the Website may be combined with information collected through the Website.

What Categories of Information Do We Collect?

We collect information relevant to delivering and improving the Service. This may include the following categories:

Identifying and Contact Information, such as your name, email address, mailing address, and phone number, which are used for identification, member services, appointment coordination, and communications.

Pet Information, such as your pet’s name, species, breed, age, sex, weight, reproductive status, current medications, known health conditions, behavioral history, and vaccination records, used to deliver the Service, generate Diagnostic Results, and build your pet’s longitudinal health profile.

Pet Health and Diagnostic Data, such as blood biomarker results, AI-generated health analyses, longitudinal trend data, Televet consultation notes, Vet Tech physical observation records, and any other clinical data generated through the Service (collectively, “Pet Health Data”). Pet Health Data is used to provide Diagnostic Results, support clinical decision-making by our Televets, power the in-app AI assistant, and advance Wonderdog’s research and development. Please refer to the Health Data and Ownership section of our Terms and Conditions for a full explanation of how Pet Health Data is owned and licensed.

Important note on data ownership: As described in Wonderdog’s Terms and Conditions, there is a meaningful distinction between two categories of health-related data. First, “Platform Data” — which means aggregated, de-identified and population-level data derived from member pets, such as reference ranges and statistical outputs, and which does not identify you or your pet — is owned exclusively by Wonder Dog Health, Inc. Second, “Pet Health Information” — which includes individually identifiable data such as your pet’s name, breed, age, and individually identifiable biomarker results, and the individual-level records and analyses generated from them — remains personal to you. Wonderdog does not claim ownership of Pet Health Information, but holds a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, transferable and assignable license to use it to deliver and improve the Service, which survives and passes to a successor in interest on the terms described in “To Related Parties in a Transaction” below. Veterinary clinical records are neither Platform Data nor assigned to Wonderdog; they are governed by applicable state veterinary practice acts. You retain the right to request a copy of your pet’s Pet Health Information and clinical records at any time. See the “Your Rights Regarding Pet Health Data” section below for details.

Audio and Visual Data, such as photographs or video recordings of you and/or your pet taken during an Appointment or provided by you in connection with the Service.

Commercial and Transactional Information, such as records of Membership purchases, Appointment bookings, supplement orders, and payment information. Wonderdog uses a third-party payment processor for credit card transactions and does not store full payment card details on its servers. Our payment processor is Stripe, Inc., and its privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy. Purchases of App access made through the App are billed by Apple rather than by Wonderdog; see “App Store Purchases” below.

Background Information, if you apply for a position with Wonderdog, including employment or contractor-related information provided in your application, used for HR and contractor management purposes. Background Information collected in the context of employment or contractor applications is maintained separately from member and Pet Health Data and is not used to deliver or improve the Service or for any purpose unrelated to the hiring or contractor engagement process.

Technical Information, such as device, internet, and network information, including data from cookies and related technologies, browsing and search history related to the Service, interactions with the Website, and geolocation information derived from your device IP address.

Sensitive Personal Information, which under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CPRA”) includes Pet Health and Diagnostic Data and certain background information provided in a job application. Wonderdog does not collect precise geolocation. The App does not request location permission; location information is derived only from IP address, which is approximate. Wonderdog collects and uses Sensitive Personal Information only to the extent necessary to deliver the Service, fulfill legal obligations, or as otherwise permitted by applicable law. California residents and residents of certain other jurisdictions have the right to limit Wonderdog’s use of Sensitive Personal Information to purposes necessary to perform the Service. See the California and Other Jurisdictions’ Privacy Rights section below for instructions on how to exercise this right.

Other Information, such as your communications to us, participation in promotions or referral programs, and non-personalized data such as aggregate or de-identified data used to evaluate the Service. If you interact with us on social media, we may collect related information disclosed to us through those platforms, and we may combine this information with information obtained through the Website.

How Is Your Information Used?

We use information to provide and improve the Service, support clinical care, personalize your member experience, and conduct relevant marketing. Specifically, we may use your information for the following purposes:

  • Providing the Service: To operate the Website, deliver Appointments, generate Diagnostic Results and longitudinal health reports, facilitate Televet consultations, coordinate Vet Tech visits, and provide member support.

  • Building Your Pet’s Health Profile: To create and maintain a longitudinal record of your pet’s biomarker trends over time, which is the core value of the Wonderdog Service.

  • AI-Assisted Features: To generate Diagnostic Results, health trend reports, dog portraits, and the answers you receive from the in-app AI assistant. Wonderdog does not build or train its own AI models. These features are delivered using AI services operated by other companies, which receive the information described in the AI Service Providers section below in order to return a result.

  • Refining the Service: To refine biomarker reference ranges, evaluate how well our reports perform, and develop new preventive health features, using de-identified or aggregated Pet Health Data. Before Pet Health Data is used this way, it undergoes a de-identification process designed to satisfy the requirements of applicable law, including technical safeguards that prohibit re-identification, business processes that prevent inadvertent release of de-identified information, and restrictions ensuring that de-identified data is not used for purposes incompatible with those described in this Privacy Policy. The scope of biomarker data collected for each pet is determined by the ordering licensed veterinarian exercising independent clinical judgment and is reasonably necessary and proportionate to delivering Wonderdog’s longitudinal preventive health service. Wonderdog conducts internal assessments of its data processing activities involving Pet Health Data in accordance with applicable law. See our Terms and Conditions for details on data ownership and de-identification.

  • Improving the Service: To evaluate features, identify areas for improvement, and develop new Service offerings.

  • Personalizing the Service: Such as by using cookies or other technologies to save certain data so you do not need to re-enter it, and to tailor content to your pet’s profile.

  • Communications: To respond to your requests, deliver Appointment confirmations and health result notifications, and send legal or account-related communications.

  • Marketing: To share relevant content and promotions with you using your contact information, or to deliver targeted digital media advertisements. If you provide your email or sign up on our Website, we may send you promotional emails. If you agree to receive calls or texts, we may use your phone number for Appointment updates or marketing messages you have opted into.

  • Security and Auditing: To detect security incidents, protect against fraudulent or illegal activity, authenticate requests, and take action where applicable.

  • Legal Compliance: To comply with court orders, subpoenas, applicable veterinary practice acts, mandatory reporting obligations (such as animal bite reporting), and other legal requirements.

  • Research and Publication: To conduct or support research on canine preventive health using de-identified or aggregated data, which may be published or shared with academic or industry partners.

SMS/Text Messaging Program

Wonderdog operates an SMS messaging program to support members and prospective members. This section describes how mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in information are collected, used, and protected. This section applies in addition to, and prevails over any inconsistent provisions of, this Privacy Policy with respect to SMS opt-in information and mobile phone numbers.

Types of Messages

If you opt in to receive SMS messages from Wonderdog, you may receive recurring text messages regarding appointment scheduling, appointment reminders, account notifications, service-related communications, and customer support responses. SMS messages sent through the Wonderdog program are transactional and conversational in nature. Wonderdog does not use the SMS program to deliver promotional or marketing messages, and consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchase or of using the Service.

Message Frequency and Rates

Message frequency varies based on your appointment cadence and the volume of your support interactions. Message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier. Wonderdog does not charge a separate fee for SMS messages.

How You Opt In

You may opt in to the Wonderdog SMS program in either of the following ways:

  • By texting us first. If you send a message to the Wonderdog Concierge line at (424) 353-4937, starting that conversation is your consent to receive our replies to it.

  • By giving us your mobile number and affirmatively choosing text as how you would like us to contact you, wherever we offer that option — for example on a Wonderdog signup or intake form, or when you arrange an appointment with our team. We may offer the same option on other Wonderdog surfaces, including within the App.

Wherever it is offered, opting in works the same way: it is explicit and affirmative, it is never pre-selected for you, and it is not bundled with acceptance of our Terms and Conditions, with creating an account, or with any other agreement. The disclosures required by applicable law and the CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices are shown at the point you give consent. Creating a Wonderdog account does not, by itself, opt you in to text messages. Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing a Membership or using the Service. Wonderdog maintains records of each opt-in, including the date and time of consent, the source, the consent language shown to the user, and the phone number that opted in.

How You Opt Out

You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any Wonderdog text message. Upon receipt of a STOP reply, Wonderdog will send a single confirmation message and will not send you additional SMS messages, except as necessary to confirm your opt-out or as required by law. You may also revoke SMS consent by emailing us at support@wonderdoghealth.com or legal@wonderdoghealth.com. Opting out of the SMS program does not affect your access to the Service through other channels such as email or the Wonderdog application.

How to Get Help

For help with the SMS program, reply HELP to any Wonderdog text message or contact us at support@wonderdoghealth.com.

No Sharing of SMS Opt-In Information or Phone Numbers

No mobile information will be shared with third party/affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in information collected in connection with the Wonderdog SMS program are not sold, rented, loaned, leased, traded, or shared with any third parties, affiliates, or marketing partners for marketing, promotional, lead-generation, or solicitation purposes. This includes, without limitation, advertising networks, social media platforms, data brokers, and analytics providers. SMS opt-in consent data and mobile phone numbers are used solely to deliver the SMS messages you have consented to receive, to provide the Service, and for internal operational purposes (such as to honor an opt-out or respond to a support request). This no-sharing commitment applies regardless of any other sharing, disclosure, selling, or advertising-partner language elsewhere in this Privacy Policy. Wonderdog may share SMS opt-in information with service providers that operate our SMS platform on our behalf (for example, Twilio, Inc.) and that are contractually prohibited from using that information for their own marketing purposes.

Carriers

The Wonderdog SMS program is supported on major U.S. wireless carriers, including AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, Boost Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile, Cricket Wireless, Google Fi, and other participating carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Eligibility

To participate in the Wonderdog SMS program, you must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, a resident of the United States, and the authorized user or account holder of the mobile phone number you provide. By opting in, you represent that you meet these requirements.

How Is Your Information Disclosed to Others?

We disclose information for the same business and commercial reasons we collect and use it. Specifically, we may disclose information under the following circumstances:

To Service Providers and Contractors, such as laboratory partners (including IDEXX Laboratories and Antech Diagnostics), cloud hosting providers, customer support platforms, payment processors, and other vendors who assist us in delivering the Service. These parties access information only to the extent necessary to perform their functions and are subject to confidentiality obligations.

To AI Service Providers, as described in the AI Service Providers section below. Unlike the other categories on this list, these providers receive information that identifies you and your pet, so they are set out separately rather than folded in here.

To Our Veterinary Team, meaning the licensed veterinarians (Televets) and veterinary technicians (Vet Techs) Wonderdog engages to deliver clinical services. They receive your pet’s health information where they need it to provide care. Access to a member’s clinical records is limited to Wonderdog and the veterinary professionals we engage to treat your pet, together with the service providers described above who host and process that information on our behalf.

To Veterinary and Healthcare Providers, as necessary in the event your pet requires emergency care, follow-up treatment, or specialist referral. We may disclose relevant Pet Health Data to outside veterinarians or healthcare providers to facilitate continuity of care, with your consent where required by applicable law.

To Legal Parties, who may require disclosure of data as authorized by applicable law in response to a subpoena, court order, or other legal process. We may also disclose information if we believe it is necessary to prevent or remedy illegal or harmful misconduct. Where required by state or local law, we may report certain incidents involving your pet (such as bites or injuries) to relevant authorities, including animal control.

To Marketing Partners and Advertisers, such as digital advertising platforms and analytics providers (including, without limitation, Google and Meta), who may receive device identifiers, cookie data, and other technical information — but not Pet Health Data or Sensitive Personal Information — for the purpose of delivering personalized advertisements that may be of interest to you. Wonderdog does not disclose your pet’s biomarker results, Diagnostic Results, or individually identifiable Pet Health Data to advertising partners for marketing purposes. Certain disclosures of technical information through cookies and similar tracking technologies may constitute “selling” or “sharing” under applicable state privacy laws. California residents and residents of other states with applicable opt-out rights may opt out of such practices as described in the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” section below, or by contacting us at legal@wonderdoghealth.com.

This does not apply to the App. The Wonderdog iOS application contains no advertising or advertising-measurement software. It does not collect a device advertising identifier, and no information collected on your device by the App is shared with Google, Meta or any other advertising platform, or used for cross-company advertising or advertising measurement. The practices described in this paragraph and in the cookies section below apply to the Website.

To Third Parties or the Public, if the information is public — such as a review posted about us online — or if it cannot reasonably identify or be linked to you, such as aggregate data used to evaluate the Service.

To Related Parties in a Transaction, if Wonderdog is involved in an acquisition, merger, financing, sale, or similar transaction, we may disclose, transfer, or assign your information to the relevant parties, subject to standard confidentiality protections.

For Data Selling or Sharing, certain transfers of data through cookies and similar technologies may be considered data selling or sharing under applicable state privacy laws. You may opt out of such practices as described in the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” section below.

To Others due to your request or consent, and as authorized by law. For example, if you use our referral feature, the member who referred you may receive a notification that their code was used, while limiting the personal data shared.

App Store Purchases

App access bought in the App is sold and billed by Apple, not by Wonderdog. We never see your payment card, and we do not receive your Apple Account details. What we receive from Apple is a signed record of the transaction: which subscription was bought, when, its renewal status, and an identifier that lets us attach it to your Wonderdog account. We use it to give you access, to show you your subscription status, and for tax and accounting records.

What Apple collects when you buy through the App Store is governed by Apple’s privacy policy, not this one. Managing, cancelling or requesting a refund for an App Store subscription happens in your Apple Account settings; see our Terms and Conditions.

AI Service Providers

Wonderdog does not build or train its own AI models. The AI features in the Service are delivered by other companies, which receive information from us in order to return a result. This section says which companies, what they receive, and on what terms — because in two of these cases the information is not de-identified.

The In-App AI Assistant

When you send a message to the AI assistant in the App, we send that message to Anthropic, PBC, together with the context the assistant needs to answer usefully. That context identifies you and your pet. It includes:

  • Your display name, or your email address if you have not set a display name.

  • For each of your dogs: name, breed, age, weight, sex and spay/neuter status.

  • Your dog’s health summary, recent medical records, health timeline, and current blood-draw and lab status.

  • Your dog’s veterinary practice, including clinic name, address and phone number, where you have given it to us.

  • Summaries of your earlier conversations with the assistant, and the full history of the conversation you are in.

  • Everything you type into the conversation.

Anthropic acts as our service provider. Under our agreement, it may use this information only to return a response to us; it may not use it to train its models, and it may not use it for its own purposes. It retains the information only as long as needed to return the response and to meet its own safety and legal obligations.

Please do not type information into the assistant that you would not want us to hold — it is stored in your account as part of the conversation, the same as any message you send us.

Dog Portraits

When you add a photo of your dog, we automatically use it to create an illustrated portrait and a short animated version, which become your dog’s picture in the app. This is not something you request separately — it starts as soon as you add the photo.

To create them, we upload your photo to Replicate, Inc., which runs the image and video models that produce them. Today those are OpenAI’s gpt-image-1.5 for the portrait and ByteDance’s seedance-1.5-pro for the short animated version. No health data, account details or pet records are sent with the photo. Replicate acts as our service provider, may use the photo only to produce the result it returns to us, and may not use it to train models.

Your Choices

The AI assistant is used only when you choose to use it. You are not required to use it, and nothing is sent to Anthropic unless you send a message. No health data is sent to any AI provider except when you use a feature that needs it.

Portraits are generated automatically from the photo you add, so your choice is over the photo rather than over the portrait. Adding a photo is optional — you can skip that step when you set up your dog — and if you do not add one, nothing is sent to Replicate. You can replace your dog’s photo at any time from the dog’s photo screen, which generates a new portrait from the new photo, and you can choose which of your dog’s previous portraits is the one shown.

You can delete an individual conversation with the AI assistant in the App at any time. Deleting your account deletes every conversation and message, along with your dog’s photos and portraits. See “How Long Do We Keep Your Information?” below.

Diagnostic Results Are Different

The AI analysis behind your pet’s Diagnostic Results is reviewed by a licensed veterinarian before you see it. The in-app AI assistant is not: its answers reach you directly. See the Automated Decision-Making and AI section below for what that means.

Do We Use Cookies or Automated Technologies?

We, like many websites, may use cookies, pixels, web beacons, and similar technologies to automatically collect certain device, internet, browser, and geolocation information when you use the Website. Collected data may include mobile device identifiers, ISP or carrier information, date and time of access, pages visited, and whether you click on certain content or advertisements.

We may use this information to personalize parts of the Service, determine when content is accessed, and customize advertisements. These technologies may include necessary and preference cookies, as well as analytics and advertising cookies.

We may use Google cookies and tools for analytics and advertising. For more information, visit https://policies.google.com/technologies/cookies. We may also use Meta and other cookies for similar purposes. You may opt out of cookies or change your cookie settings in your browser or device settings. Resources include: https://www.allaboutcookies.org/, www.aboutads.info/choices, and https://youradchoices.com/appchoices.

The Website does not currently respond to Do Not Track (DNT) requests.

Do We Collect Information About Children?

We do not knowingly collect personal information about children under the age of 13. If we obtain actual knowledge that we have collected personal information about a child under the age of 13, we will delete that information promptly.

The Service is intended solely for use by individuals who are at least eighteen (18) years of age. Wonderdog does not direct the Service at children and does not knowingly allow minors to create accounts or use the Service. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to Wonderdog without your consent, please contact us at legal@wonderdoghealth.com and we will promptly delete such information. If you are under 18, please do not use the Service or submit any information to us.

This is not intended to be an admission that we are subject to the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, the Federal Trade Commission’s Children’s Online Privacy Protection Rule(s), or any similar international, federal, state, or local laws, rules, or regulations.

How Is Your Information Protected?

Wonderdog is based in the United States, and the Service is operated from and data is stored in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, please be aware that your information will be transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country of residence. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer. Wonderdog applies the same data protection standards described in this Privacy Policy to all personal information regardless of where it is processed. If you are located outside the United States and have questions about international data transfers, please contact us at legal@wonderdoghealth.com. Wonderdog uses commercially reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss. However, no system or website can be 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information. You should not assume that information communicated using our Service or the internet generally will be fully secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of your account credentials and should immediately notify us if you believe there has been a security breach.

Data Security Program

In accordance with applicable state data security laws, Wonderdog maintains a reasonable data security program that includes:

Administrative safeguards, such as designating employees responsible for the security program, conducting risk assessments, training personnel on data security practices, and selecting service providers capable of maintaining appropriate security measures.

Technical safeguards, such as encryption of personal information in transit and at rest, access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel, monitoring systems to detect unauthorized access or anomalous activity, and secure software development practices.

Physical safeguards, such as secure facilities and infrastructure for data storage, disposal procedures for physical records containing personal information, and controls on physical access to systems that store member and pet health data.

Wonderdog reviews and updates its security program on an ongoing basis to address new and evolving risks.

Breach Notification

In the event of a security breach that compromises the security, confidentiality, or integrity of your personal information, Wonderdog will notify affected members in accordance with applicable state breach notification laws.

Specifically:

Timing: We will notify affected members without unreasonable delay, and in any event within the timeframes required by applicable law in the member’s state of residence, generally within 45 days of discovery unless a shorter period is required by applicable law.

Method: We will notify you by email to the address associated with your Wonderdog account, or by written notice if email is not available. In the event of a breach affecting a large number of members, we may supplement direct notice with a prominent notice on our Website.

Content: Breach notifications will describe the nature of the breach, the categories of information affected, the steps Wonderdog has taken to address and remediate the breach, and the steps you can take to protect yourself.

Regulatory Reporting: Where required by applicable law, Wonderdog will notify relevant state attorneys general and other applicable regulatory authorities of a breach affecting residents of their respective states.

Automated Decision-Making and AI

Wonderdog uses artificial intelligence in two distinct ways, and the protections around them are not the same. Diagnostic Results — your pet’s biomarker analysis, health trend reports and risk flags — are reviewed by a licensed veterinarian before you see them. The in-app AI assistant answers you directly, with no veterinarian in between. This section covers both.

Diagnostic Results

It is important that you understand how this technology works and its limitations:

What the AI does: Wonderdog does not build or train its own models. We configure and prompt AI models operated by other companies, and no member data is used to train them. Working that way, the Service compares your pet’s biomarker results against population-based reference ranges, your pet’s own longitudinal baseline, and pattern libraries developed from de-identified pet health data. The AI generates Diagnostic Results that may flag individual biomarkers as elevated, low, or within range, and may identify trends or patterns that warrant clinical attention.

What the AI does not do: The AI does not make final clinical decisions, diagnose conditions, prescribe treatments, or operate autonomously without licensed veterinary oversight. Every AI-generated flag and analysis in a Diagnostic Result is reviewed by a licensed Televet before being communicated to members as part of a clinical consultation.

Televet review: Every Diagnostic Result that includes an AI-generated risk flag or recommendation is reviewed by a Wonderdog-affiliated licensed veterinarian (Televet) prior to delivery. The Televet exercises independent clinical judgment and may modify, contextualize, or override any AI-generated finding.

The AI Assistant Is Not Reviewed

No veterinarian reviews these answers. When you ask the assistant a question in the App, its reply is generated and shown to you directly. Nobody at Wonderdog reads it first.

Because of that, the assistant is informational only. It can be wrong, it can be incomplete, and it can be confidently mistaken. It does not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, or establish a veterinarian-client-patient relationship, and it is not a substitute for advice from a licensed veterinarian who has examined your pet. Do not use it in an emergency — if your pet needs urgent care, call your veterinarian or your nearest emergency veterinary hospital.

If an answer looks harmful, wrong or inappropriate, you can report it from the conversation. A report sends us the message you flagged, the reason you chose, and the conversation it came from, and it is added to your record for our team to review. Reports are kept for as long as your account is open.

Your right to opt out: Wonderdog provides you with the ability to opt out of having your pet’s data processed by the AI models behind Diagnostic Results, as a matter of company policy and our commitment to transparency, even where not required by applicable law. If you wish to exercise this option, contact us at legal@wonderdoghealth.com with the subject line “Opt Out of AI Processing.” Please be aware that because AI-driven analysis is integral to the generation of Diagnostic Results and longitudinal health trend reports, opting out of AI processing will affect Wonderdog’s ability to deliver these features of the Service. If you opt out, your pet’s blood biomarker results will still be processed by our laboratory partners, but the AI-generated trend analysis, risk flagging, and predictive health insights will not be available to your pet’s reports.

How Long Do We Keep Your Information?

We retain different categories of information for different periods, based on the nature of the data, our business needs, and applicable legal requirements.

If You Delete Your Account

Deleting your account starts a short holding period, after which your information is deleted rather than archived. Specifically:

Within 30 days, we delete your pet profiles, health records, lab results, uploaded documents, portraits, AI assistant conversations, and account details, except for the two carve-outs below. We hold them for a short period first so that an accidental deletion can be reversed and so that a failed step can be retried.

Records our veterinarians created — consultation notes, and lab results a Wonderdog veterinarian signed off, together with the reports behind them — are kept for five (5) years. This is a veterinary recordkeeping obligation that sits with the license of the veterinarian who created the record, and it is not something we can waive at your request.

A reduced internal record is kept: your name and contact details, and what you purchased. It is marked as deleted and excluded from all marketing. We keep it to meet tax and accounting obligations, to recognize you if you return, and to make sure a deleted account is not re-created by mistake. Purchase records are kept for a minimum of five (5) years following the transaction; the contact details attached to them are kept for the same period.

To ask us to delete your account, use the deletion option in the App or contact us at legal@wonderdoghealth.com.

While Your Account Is Open

Identifying and Contact Information, Pet Health and Diagnostic Data: Retained for as long as your account is open, so that your pet’s longitudinal health record stays intact, and then handled as described above. De-identified or aggregated data derived from your records may be retained indefinitely for research and to refine the Service.

Clinical Records: Retained in accordance with the veterinary practice act of the state in which the treating Televet is licensed, which typically requires a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years. Wonderdog will comply with the longest applicable retention period across its active operating states.

In-App AI Assistant Conversations: Kept as part of your account for as long as your account is open, so that the assistant can refer back to what you have discussed. You can delete an individual conversation in the App at any time. Deleting your account deletes them all, as described above.

Dog Portraits: The photo you upload and the portrait generated from it are kept as part of your pet’s profile for as long as your account is open, and are deleted with it.

Commercial and Transactional Information: Retained for a minimum of five (5) years following the transaction date to satisfy tax, accounting, and legal compliance obligations.

Technical and Cookie Data: Retained for up to two (2) years, or shorter periods as required by applicable law or cookie consent frameworks.

Website Chat Conversations: This is the chat on wonderdoghealth.com, which anyone can use without an account — not the in-app AI assistant covered above. If you use it, we keep a record of that conversation — the questions you ask and the responses you receive — so that our team can review it, answer follow-up questions, and improve the assistant. These conversations are retained for twenty-four (24) months, after which they are deleted. We do not require you to identify yourself in order to use the chat, and we do not store your IP address alongside these conversations. Please do not share sensitive personal information through the chat assistant. You may request deletion of your chat conversations as described in the What Are Your Privacy Rights? section below.

Background and Job Application Information: Retained for up to two (2) years following the conclusion of a hiring or contractor onboarding process, or longer if required by applicable employment law.

Where we are required by applicable law to retain information for a longer period, or where retention is necessary to protect Wonderdog’s legal interests, we will retain information accordingly. When retention periods expire, we will delete or de-identify the relevant information in accordance with our internal data management procedures.

What Are Your Privacy Rights?

Certain privacy laws grant users various privacy rights. If you have a specific privacy request regarding your information, please contact us with your name and email address (or other identifier used with the Service) using our contact information below. To protect member privacy and security, we may require that you, or your authorized agent, verify the identity of the requestor.

Depending on where you reside, you may have the right to:

Access your information and know the categories of information we have collected, the sources, our related business and commercial purposes, the categories of third parties to whom data is disclosed, and the specific information collected about you. California residents may also request information regarding disclosure of personal information to third parties for direct marketing purposes under California’s “Shine the Light” law.

Delete your information, subject to certain legal limitations, including our obligations to retain veterinary clinical records under applicable state law.

Amend your information if it is inaccurate.

Limit the processing of certain information or any automated decision-making, if applicable.

Opt out of the selling or sharing of your information, or out of certain marketing communications. If you opt out of advertisements, we may still send you non-promotional messages related to your Service use or legal updates.

Non-Discrimination for assertion of your privacy rights or filing a complaint.

Your Rights Regarding Pet Health Data

In addition to general privacy rights, Wonderdog recognizes that Pet Health Data warrants specific consideration. You may:

  • Request a copy of your pet’s Diagnostic Results and longitudinal health reports at any time through your member account or by contacting us.

  • Request that your pet’s clinical records be transferred to another veterinarian or veterinary practice, in accordance with applicable state veterinary practice act requirements.

  • Opt out of the use of your pet’s de-identified data for research purposes by contacting us at legal@wonderdoghealth.com. Note that opting out of research use does not affect your access to the Service.

Requests related to clinical records maintained by a licensed Televet are subject to the veterinary recordkeeping laws of the state in which that Televet is licensed, which may impose specific requirements and timelines for record access and transfer.

California and Other Jurisdictions’ Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) may provide you with specific rights regarding your personal information. Other jurisdictions’ laws may provide you with similar rights regarding your personal information. This section generally describes those rights and how to exercise them. Where applicable, these rights are in addition to the general privacy rights described above.

Right to Know (12-Month Lookback): You have the right to request that Wonderdog disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you over the past 12 months, including the categories of sources, our business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling that information, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.

Right to Delete: You have the right to request deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions — including our obligation to retain veterinary clinical records and information necessary to complete a transaction, detect fraud, or comply with a legal obligation.

Right to Correct: You have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.

Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing: You have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise this right, see the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” section below.

Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: You have the right to direct Wonderdog to limit its use and disclosure of your Sensitive Personal Information — including Pet Health and Diagnostic Data — to purposes necessary to perform the Service, as permitted by the CPRA and certain other jurisdictions’ privacy laws. To exercise this right, contact us at legal@wonderdoghealth.com with the subject line “Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information.”

Right to Non-Discrimination: Wonderdog will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA/CPRA or other privacy rights. We will not deny you the Service, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised a privacy right.

Authorized Agent: You may designate an authorized agent to submit a privacy request on your behalf. We may require written proof of the agent’s authorization and may verify your identity directly before processing the request.

To submit a California privacy request, contact us at legal@wonderdoghealth.com with the subject line “California Privacy Request,” or using the contact details at the end of this Policy. For other jurisdictions, please substitute the name of your U.S. state or country in the subject line of your request. We will respond to verifiable requests within 45 days, with one 45-day extension where reasonably necessary.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

Wonderdog does not sell your personal information for monetary compensation. However, certain disclosures of personal information to third-party advertising and marketing partners — including through cookies and similar tracking technologies — may constitute “sharing” under the CPRA or other jurisdictions’ laws for purposes of cross-context behavioral advertising.

California residents and residents of certain other jurisdictions have the right to opt out of such sharing. You may exercise this right in the following ways:

Browser and device settings: You can limit or block the cookies and similar technologies used for advertising on the Website through your browser or device settings, and through the resources listed in the cookies section above. The App carries no advertising or advertising-measurement software, so there is nothing to opt out of there.

Email opt-out: Send a request to legal@wonderdoghealth.com with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share” and include your name and the email address associated with your Wonderdog account.

Once you opt out, Wonderdog will not share your personal information with third-party advertising partners for behavioral advertising purposes. Note that opting out of sharing does not affect our ability to use your information to provide the Service, send transactional communications, or comply with legal obligations. Your opt-out preference will be honored within 15 business days of receipt.

These choices are open to everyone, wherever you live. Rather than list the states whose laws happen to require it, Wonderdog offers the rights described in this Policy — access, deletion, correction, and opting out of sharing — to every member, and honors a request on the same terms regardless of your state of residence.

You can contact us by using our Contact Form on the Website or by emailing us at legal@wonderdoghealth.com. We may store information related to your requests or communications and disclose it if needed to process your request.

How Do We Modify Our Privacy Policy?

Wonderdog reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. When we make material changes — such as changes to the categories of information we collect, how we use or share it, or your privacy rights — we will provide you with reasonable advance notice by sending an email to the address associated with your account and/or by posting a prominent notice on our Website, no less than thirty (30) days before the changes take effect (or such shorter period as required by applicable law). Non-material changes, such as clarifications or corrections, may take effect upon posting. The most current version of this Privacy Policy will always be available on our Website, with its effective and publication dates shown at the top. Your continued access to or use of the Service after the effective date of any modification constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to a material change, you must stop using the Service before the effective date of that change. This modification provision is consistent with the Changes section of our Terms and Conditions, which governs modification of those Terms.
